Simon's Town CC
Simon's Town Golf and Country Club is believed to have been founded in 1913. It is one of the oldest and well-kept secret golf courses in the Western Cape, South Africa. Simon's Town CC is set at the site of the 1900 Boer prisoner of war camp. The nine hole links golf course is neat & well maintained.
The Simon's Town Country Club is situated along the shores of False Bay, on the way to Cape Point, south of Simon's Town on the Cape Peninsula, adjacent to Boulders Beach. The STCC is reasonably short with only 9 holes to play but has 18 different tees. It measures approximately 4000 metres long with fairly small greens and plays to a total of 66 pars.
The fairways and greens are paved with Kikuyu grass. A special kind of grass spices that flourishes well under hot, dry summers but exhibits dormant survival strategies in cold and hash wet winter weather. During the winter season, you can see penguins and whales frolicking in the bay.
