The golf course at El Camaleon Golf Club is a luxury championship golf facility. It is located about 40 miles south of Cancun city and north of Playa del Carmen in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The course is a masterpiece design by Greg Norman, a famous Australian National golf course engineer also known as Gregory John Norman.

El Camaleón Golf Club is nothing short of remarkable. It lies in a tropical forest region along the sub oceanic basin of the Caribbean Sea, in the epic Riviera Maya district area but inside the master planned luxury resort community of Mayakoba resort.

El Camaleon GC boasts a series of 18 parkland holes featuring undulating lush fairways planted with Poaceae, a desirable turfgrass characterised by a dense root system which is easy to maintain and has an aggressive growth routine. It plays to about 7,000 yards for a par value of 72 from the farthest tees.

In 2007 2 years after the golf course opened, El Camaleón broke new grounds to be the 1st golf course ever, to host an official PGA TOUR competition in México and for the 1st official PGA TOUR event ever beyond the boundaries of the United States and Canada.
